Which exhaust is better for a 1981 Suzuki gs850 g: the MAC or Vance and Hine? I am having trouble deciding. Alot of opinion says the Mac is not high quality.

Yep, the Mac exhaust is pretty low-rent and sounds like tinny crap.
The V&H is the way to go if you're going to a 4/1.
If the bike hasn't already been rejetted for a pipe, you might consider looking for an OEM exhaust. An exhaust from an "GL" model has a little more sound to it than the one from a "G".1983 GS850G, Cosmos Blue.

I don't know if they're still available but I put a kerker on my gs1000gl about 25 years ago and it still sounds great!Comment
