    weird carb problems on a 82 gs1100e

I bought a 4 into 1 Mac exhaust and maxi air pods and a stage 3 jet kit for some reason cylinder 1 is running rich 2 is kinda good 3 is getting lean and 4 is so lean it is turning my black pipe white.i seriously have tried adjusting everything and it is poping and cracking when it revs up the rpm jumps afterwords i have checked timing valve clearance checked for vacuum leaks took the carbs total apart and deep cleaned them.I'm out of ideas when i put the jet kit in i followed every instruction to the t. Any suggestions.

Never heard of Maxi Pad pods.
Check compression and how did you deep clean the carbs?
Oh and I bet your intake boots are cracked and leaking.

Make sure the pods aren't blocking the holes in the rear of the carb where they go on. A lot of cheaper ones do & cause problems

Ok here i think is the problem I'm running 138 dyna jet Mains what is that equivalent to in mukuni jet and if i have a bigger main do i need a bigger slow/pilot jet the one under the black rubber cap next to the main and if i do what size do i need for a 138 dynajet main there is a mukuni 45 pilot jet in there now so what size dyna jet pilot would i need to compensate the new size of the dynajet main.

if you are running the chrome cone pods from ebay(emgo $28.00)....throw them in the trash and jet with open carbs...get it right then buy some good filters.

So i changed the pilot jet out to 47.5 and set the floats to 22.4mm.but it was still popping and sounding bad thought it might be the sync well as i was driving to get them synced it died and wouldn't start again well got it home checked everything.than started to check the coils they where all good.so i kept trouble shooting finally found that cylinder 1 and 4 pickup went bad and all the problems i was having the poping and ect was that starting to go bad and finally totally stopped working now sending them to dynatech to get replaced for 75 bucks.
