Good luck on getting it running smoothly.....you'll enjoy it!
Ill pay closer attention to that this evening after I check out the points ..
May even put some tape on the throttle with marks to show 1/4 1/2 3/4 full
And im already enjoying it !! BIG difference in compared to my gs640gl !!
      No HUGE DIFFERANCE !!
I feel as though I actually have a bike below me now....

Be careful with that, it's a big fine in most places. They get all uppity about you keeping your money instead of giving it to the state. I have been pulled over by a GS expert before. I was on the right bike at the time but that's not always the case.

Go early, there are several po po free hours after sunrise before the cops leave the donut shop. Empty Interstates are cool, you can slow way down and then wind it out repeatedly without attracting any attention. Any road away from a city should be clear early, especially on a weekend.

Edit, Canadian! At least get insurance on it, I hear not having any is a really big deal up there!

Here in Ontario you firat have to change ownership . Then you have to bring it to a licensed shop and pay them $100 bucks to tell you ya yourbike appears to be safe to ride .. then back to get plates and a sticker , which ends up being another $100 ...
Already called my insurance company and im going from $1400 a yr on my 650 to $2200 a yr to insure the 1000 ...

Here in Ontario to get your bike lic you have to do 3 tests !! First one a written test .. if you pass you now aloud to drive on any street below 80k/hr no passengers and zero alc...oh but not afterthe sun sets and an hr after the sun rises ...
Then you do yourfirst driving test in which you cant do until after 3 months , they get you to pull out from amall parking lot , drive through the intersection , turn into the plaza , turn around in theparking lot , then pull out of mall merge into traffic , then come back all while some guy watches from the corner !!!
Now your allowed to ride at nite and have a passenger and whooowho you can now drive faster then 80 k/hr and go on the highways . Butstill not allowed to have alc in the system ..
After 1 yr you can book your final test ..then they give you ahead set and some moron follows behind you in a car telling you where to turn and what to do ...

Canada what a great place !!

I guess they incorporated this system cuzz any 16 yr old could run out and buy abikeand do a written test before then jup out on the street on the crotch rocketmommy and daddy just bought them ...
