    Where to buy rebuild kits?

    I need to buy a carb rebuild kit for a 1981 GS1100E.

    I found :
Supplying new parts for Vintage Motorcycles! Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki and Yamaha. Old Bike Barn has what you need for your vintage motorcycle project!

    There is also eBay:
This one apparently is made in Japan. So he says.

    Any trusted suppliers? Go genuine?

    Thank you.

I strongly suggest you do some research before embarking on this project, and that includes ordering parts. Carb rebuild tutorial linked in my signature. That will get you started...

You don't need or want a rebuild kit - just get the orings from www.cycleorings.com and the bowl gasket from someone like Z1

Just curious as to why you think you need a rebuild kit?

If you just need the soft parts then go to cycleorings.com

If you need to change out jets then I'd recommend going OEM if possible I've had good luck with these people: JetsRUs.com

I'm happy I asked the question and got your replies. Got me back on my feet.

I did a dismantle/clean 2 yrs ago and installed new o-rings. I had to fix the diaphragms with grey gasket tube to get it running. Did not have any money to get new ones.

I know I have to dismantle/clean them one more time cause I always screw/forget something the first time I try something.

SO my new question is where to you guys get new diaphragms from ?

http://jbmindustries.com/Yamaha650.html Seems to be your best bet for the diaphragms. I have not personally tried it but it looks like a good budget option. The slides and diaphragms are made together. They are still available new but they are 100$ a PIECE . http://www.partsnmore.com/parts/suzuki/gs1100e/?filters The slide is about half way down the page.

              I've seen that page.

BS38CV 77 mm OD of Diaphragm
BS36CV 73 or 77 mm OD of Diaphragm
BS34CV 73 mm OD of Diaphragm
              BS34SS & BS32 70 mm OD of Diaphragm

              I measured and I have 73mm OD.

How do I know what version I have are there any markings on the carbs?
Do I have the BS36CV or the BS34CV?
Hell if I know what the PO did.

Stock carbs on your bike were BS34.

Hopefully, a PO did not change them.
