Petcock Diaphram 1977 GS750
My 77 GS750 petcock leaks. I suspect the diaphragm has had it. Looking at diaphrams available on ebay etc it seems that the replacement excludes the nylon spacer between the vacumn and tap part of the diaphram? Is this right ... I presume it does no damage squeezing the new diaphram in ... or am I missing something? Does anyone have an assured source of new diaphrams or can help with this.

I dont know if the tap was refitted later on or not, but i do know that rebuilding them comes with a very very dismal success rate. Most have agreed its worth the money to buy the new OEM one than waste money on kits and all your time breaking them down.
Be sure to get the bolt sealing gaskets..#6 also

I would rather trust my bike to a "QUACK" that KNOWS how to fix it rather than a book worm that THINKS HE KNOWS how to fix it.

Thanks Chuck.
Its not easy to see from the picture, does the replacement tap have two hose connections ... one for fuel and one for vacumn, as mine currently has. I assume if buy the whole petcock it includes the tank gasket?
Cheers, Colin
