helps trap anything that may get that far..I would install one if possible to find one. But it will still function normally without it.MY BIKES..1977 GS 750 B, 1978 GS 1000 C (X2)

I would rather trust my bike to a "QUACK" that KNOWS how to fix it rather than a book worm that THINKS HE KNOWS how to fix it.

Thanks, I think I might order one up from Z1. I am rebuilding 2 sets of carbs at the same time so I can steal one of the other set for now and wait to finish that set once it comes in.
Are the rubber Pilot Jet Plugs needed? The ones in the second set of carbs that I am rebuilding are really hard and dry. They also have powdery rubber coming off of them so I don't want to leave them in.

Yes as was stated, they are needed. without them the jets suck up way too much fuel and its basically running like the choke is constantly on..flooding the cylinders, very rough running..if at all, and quickly fouled plugs are the usual results.MY BIKES..1977 GS 750 B, 1978 GS 1000 C (X2)
