    Petcock ID help!

    Hi all,

I was searching through threads for info about ordering a new petcock for my '79 GS750L but was confused when nothing I found matched what is on my bike. It appears to my untrained eye and limited knowledge that I have an 80s lever less installed, which indicates a 80s tank?

Is this why the PO installed a second petcock? (The red on off guy in the back of the photo)

Please advise! And if any locals want to come check out just how big this can of worms is, I'll happily supply the beers and whiskies!

Remove petcock from tank- inspect mounting to see if PO got creative and enlarged/slotted holes. If no, then congrats, you got the 80 lever less petcock! So just get new one and learn to live with it. This guy has them

Yup the dreaded 80 vacuum petcock. But on a 79? Something got changed. Buy a new one.
