    fuel is leaking from engine chain cover area

    I have a fuel leak (well pouring) out from where there is the chain cover on the engine is and I took it off and the pin behind it was wet it was movable a little bit. I just bought this bike and don't know much about them so any help is great! Thanks

    Your carbs are leaking. You might want to check out the Newbie Mistakes thread linked in my signature.

      1980 GS 750E Bought new in Feb of 1980
      2015 CAN AM RTS


      Stuff I've done to my bike:dancing: 1100E front end with new Sonic springs, 1100E swing arm conversion with new Progressive shocks installed, 530 sprockets/chain conversion, new SS brake lines, new brake pads. New SS fasteners through out. Rebuilt carbs, new EBC clutch springs and horn installed. New paint. Motor runs strong.

        Congrats on the 'new' bike, but we don't know anything about it, either.

          Sorry. I own a 1983 suzuki GS450t is what it seems to be! First bike but Iv done work on a few cars and a Honda ruckus scooter.

            Could have a fuel bowl that is leaking, do you use the side stand? might be the drain screw, there are many things that could be possible.

              I always have it leaned on the side. And it just randomly happened the other day it worked fine doe a little . Can u explain how to check what ur talking about because iv looked at the car and cleaned it not even 5 months ago.

                Since you apparently use kickstand, check the carb on that side. Also check petcock (the gizmo on gas tank bottom) as it might be dribbling gas down onto drive chain cover.
