    Vm26 basics

Just some basics needed here got a 77 gs750 and need to hnow what each screw does
side screw = air enrichs/leans entire mixture
Bottom screw = idle mixture ?? 2 out as standard

    thanks daryl

Bottom is the pilot screw...set at 3/4 to 7/8 out. Side is the MIXTURE screw..regulates air to fuel mixture. this is used for all the tuning. Set it at 2 out as the starting point.

Set the pilot screw on bottom and then leave it alone.

Here is the oring kit...1 kit does 1 full rack of carbs. Go to page 3 of Roberts site and also order the intake manifold orings. Measrue the ID of yours, which I think will be 32MM, and order the appropriate ones.

So the pilot screw is feeding more air to the pilot circuit ??

          Thanks for your reply

Fuel.......Read the service manual and it shows the carb circuits and explains what each one does and why.

Use the settings I stated and youll be fine. What the manual says about the pilot screw is this.....do not adjust. I used to have a chart that showed all the stuff. I will try and find it.

click the STICKY at the top about OEM carb specs per the manual and see post #43...thats the chart. Use the engine serial number and match it to the chart.

So 3/4 to 7/8th out from all the way in then leave it there and do the tuning from the air screw

                        thanks for your help

Yes...thats correct. GENTLY seat them..when they want to stop dont force them and break the tips off the pilot screws.

                            Ditto

Be sure to check the holes when you remove the screws, so you can be sure no one else broke the tip off already
