    85 gs550 Mikuni BSW30SS parts and questions

Hello, I was wondering if there are some people with experience working with the strange BSW30 twin carbs. I cant seem to find any kits listed for these particular carbs and I also had some questions about the jetting specs. I read somewhere that these carbs have different jet sizes for the inside and outside cylinders mine are all the same 97.5.
also not sure what this is but on one carb it is newer and has 2.8 stamped on it the other one has 2.5 stamped in it.

I also had a question about my plugs the left two are very dry, while the right two have oil on them and are gummed up the bike was having a hard time keeping a low idle, I would have to use the choke to keep it around 2k rpms until it would warm up and then it would stay at around 2k even with the choke completely off.

I will be checking the valve specs tomorrow, but I wanted to hold off on putting the carbs back together until I find out if the jets are correct.

also this is what is stamped in the carb if it helps

Yes, different main jets- according to this parts fiches, a variety

on right two carbs, is it fuel fouled ,not oil ? Adding "choke" adds more fuel, maybe too much

Edit: back up in that link and you'll see the different main jet sizes and their location
get to that valve clearance check ASAP

I have an 83' 550E with the twin bores on it. Mine was originally jetted with 95 mains on the outside two cylinders and 102.5 for the inside two. I put pods on it and purchased a dynojet kit for it. It runs perfect and still gets the same mileage as before the pods.

So yes there is a jet kit for these and it works perfectly.

Thanks for the help. I ordered two 95s and two 102.5s as well as the o ring kit. As far as the valve check, the Clymers manual says valve spec is between (0.003-0.005 inches)(0.08-0.13mm), while they are not all the same they are all at least 0.003' should I adjust them all to the max or leave them as they are? also does anyone know where I can find a 2.5 float valve seat?
