    1979 GS1000S 4 into 2 exhaust

    Greetings all,

I'm trying to locate a new 4 into 2 exhaust to suit a 1979 GS1000SN. I've found the MAC system with the "turn out" mufflers, but I just can't get my head around how inappropriate the style of the mufflers is for a 35 year old superbike. (IMO...)

Doesn't anyone in GS land know of an alternative to the MAC?, or even an old original system in decent condition? Very occasionally a complete original system turns up on eBay, but most sellers don't want to ship beyond the US.

I want to retain the original look of the exhaust as much as possible.

I've also posted a WTB in the Classifieds section.

    Thanks.

Buy decent sets of regular GS 1000 pipes and make your own set. use the good headers from each set you aquire and weld the good mufflers to the good headers. I did this to make good pipes for all my 1000s. That or be very patient and watch ebay like a hawk.

NEVER SNEAK UP ON A SLEEPING DOG..NOT EVEN YOUR OWN.

I would rather trust my bike to a "QUACK" that KNOWS how to fix it rather than a book worm that THINKS HE KNOWS how to fix it.
