Running woes after rebuild
I've just rebuilt the engine on my '79 GS400. A year ago I rebuilt the carbys with new seals and she ran ok but blew a lot of smoke on one cyl which is why I've done the engine rebuild. When I pulled the carbys off I just put a rag in them and sat them to one side. I put the bike all back together, was able to rode it 20 meters on the first try and it then stalled. Now I can't get the bike to run off the choke. I can get it started on choke but it soon after starts to labour and then stall. I screwed in the air mixture screws and let them out 1 1/4 turns as the manual says. Any thoughts?Tags: None

Did you set the points and timing manually? does the bike start easily enough but just won't run when the choke is off?Rob
