      Check that spring!

      It looks like your throttle return spring is routed incorrectly, it would be dangerous to use like that as it will not snap the throttle shut when released. It is supposed to attach to the nub sticking off of the piece that the throttle cables attach too (in your pic it is to the left and below current spot). It looks like the nub is still there to use. It looks like and adjuster and nut is supposed to be where the spring is attaching now. You may need a new spring, pic makes it look too long. Off the bike, it should be 2.5" long from end to end and needs to be pretty strong. Definitely fix that in your rebuild.
