Carbs troubles - i d0nīt understand need help

    Hi guys...

so my 82' gs1100 is so strange....

i bought it with bs34 crbs but seems to be from a kawa, without air filter and 4x2 not OEM exhausts...

i adjust the valve clearences, oil and filter changed

but i have big troubles with the carbs

since i bought this lady, she never idle well, its like accelerate bi itself

so i bought the jets and the rings, i made a CLR cleaning, and replace all the o-ring - the boots are new too

but when i go upper than 5000 rpm this like sik... and not accelerating anymore, if i pull the clutch a little it seems be better but not so much

i make the tests with main jets 107.5, 115, 142 (with and without pods) and it gave me the results, so i d'ont understand anymore

seriously guys, you are my last help...

I am not certain what a CLR cleaning is. Is this a chemical you cleaned them with?? here is a place that will serve you well when working on the bike. Note that on the right side undewr the manuals menu area youll see the CV CARB REBUILD TUTORIAL. Go step by step and do a full 24 hr dipping of the carbs in Berrymans carb and parts cleaner dip, or a similar carb and parts cleaning solution. Us folks here in the USA get our Berrymans at Walmart. Dont know if they are around you or not.

Once the carbs are dipped and all new orings in them, set the top mixture screws ( the ones at the top rear of the carbs ) at 2 1/2 out from lightly seated. By lightly seated we mean that you gently turn them in till they stop. At this point, DO NOT force them anymore. Make a mark on the rim of the hole in line with the end of the slot as a witness mark and count the 2 1/2 out from there.

Here is the website with the manuals and tutorials.

Here is where to get the oring kit and the intake manifold ( carb holder ) orings.

VERY IMPORTANT!!! When removing the float needle seats, DO NOT grip and twist them with pliers. This tend to squish the holes out of round and thats a bad thing. Instead, use a very thin blade and get between the carb body and the brass shoulder and gently pry the seats out of there holes.

DO NOT heat them to loosen them either. There are filter screens on the bottom of the seats and if you heat them you stand a chance of melting the plastic clips that hold the screens in place.

          Hi guys

i just realize the 142.5 main jet seems to work better but this is far to be perfect.

could it be the ignition system?

the "without an air filter" seems to be an important clue. any airbox, pods, or just open carbs? cause without something, it will be hard going.

Okay, so what do you have for an air filter now?

Your symptoms say you're running lean -

Do you have the airbox on? Is it sealed?

Since you've read BassCliffs site, look at How to post pictures on the GSR and post up some pictures of what you've got
