    Vacuum Line When Synching Carbs

Does the vacuum line need to be plugged or can it be left open while synching? I noticed that the vacuum in carb 2 jumps dramatically when plugged so it's probably pretty important one way or another . I've got the tank sitting on the back seat with a longer fuel line and the fuel cock set to "prime" so I don't need a vacuum line.

    Thanks,

    Brian

    Hi.

    Yes.

The vacuum port must be plugged. If left open the mixture for that cylinder will be very lean. Too much air.

I have seen guys put the rubber hose on it and putting a golf tee in the other end.

I cover mine with those little rubber nipples that goes over the vent on a new battery.

Yes, unplug the hose from the petcock and put a golf tee in the end
