Admittedly my clean job was weak at best after reading all this great stuff. The good news is by hooking up the line on carb 2 the bike starts and idles on the two right cylinders only, with any luck after the cleaning the other two cyls will come to life

Two right cylinders? But number 2 carb is on the left. Very strange. I would have thought that if the vacuum line was the problem, then the #2 cylinder (second from the left) would have been the only one effected.

How are you verifying that the cylinders are firing?

hot pipes, let it sit there idling then the other two came alive, should be great after the proper cleaning

Are you sure you have the carbs synced properly? Even after a rebuild, you'll have to get them synced up.

Do the carbs per the tutorials, adjust then valves, get the carbs synced using gauges, and see if one of the other bikes has an airbox. If not look on Ebay and get one.
