Two Brothers on 83 GS1100

I picked up 2 slip on two brothers pipes from a 2008 gsxr 1000. Wondering what is the best route to go. Buy a use 4 into 1 and retrofit or have an exhaust shop build a 4 into 1 from scratch? How would you guys suggest I do this?

I'd adapt it to an existing pipe if it were me. Smaller piece for adapter to be built than to have the head pipes done from scratch.

Am I better off keeping dual exhaust or converting to 1?

If you can find a Kerker, 4 into 2 header for an 1150, you will be WAAAYYY ahead of the game on your build. The HEADER part of the exhaust is the same for the 1100, 1150 & EARLY Katana 1000 & 1100s. The only difference is the rear hanger bracket location on the megaphone or canisters. Then you will only need to manufacture a mid-pipe for each side to tie them together.
