Ultrasonic Cleaners?
Anyone use a particular model they like for carb cleaning? I been considering buying one for bike carbs. I had a local shop clean a carb body but it wasn't done right, it seems i can turn the air screw all the way in and it still runs ? Makes me wonder if its plugged or perhaps the pilot jet is so rich and too large for this particular Carb, Nice doing stuff yourself period, then no one too blame crap work on. This carb body is out of my 120 merc cruiser engine . I know its a bike forum but I wish to get any own ultrasonic cleaner for the many bike carbs I use. Thanx Guys MikeTags: None

I had a Branson and love it till it died. A bit pricy though. I've seen these for some time now and have heard good things about them:
I ended up building one myself. Works great and pretty inexpensive:

Darn, with so many daily riders it's hard to decide which one to jump on next.;)

This is the one I have and I love it. It's only 199.99 when the seller has units in stock. He just jacks the price to scare folks off in the meantime. The cleaner heats up to 60C and has a timer that can be set up to 30 minutes. I can fit two carb bodies in it along with the hardware etc for both and I usually go 2 full cycles on max temp and timer. Never had a dirty passage after. I run 3:1 water and vinegar in mine. I blow the carbs out every nook and cranny with the air compressor after the last cycle and they are good to go. Another great thing is if you have a pilot screw that is stuck a trip through the cleaner usually frees all the crud that is sticking it. Usually being the key word.Last edited by Guest; 05-17-2015, 02:20 PM.
