If you ride the bike on a regular basis then you can go with anything 87+ octane. The ethanol really only comes into play when stored or you live in a very high humidity environment. It's not the ethanol that is the problem. It's the water that it absorbs that is the source of the rust and corrosion. The bikes are rated for anything above 85 octane but going higher octane doesn't give you anything and can actually reduce performance slightly when you get on the higher side. As for fuel mileage, ethanol will reduce your fuel economy slightly but the cost difference between oxygenated and non-oxygenated fuel offsets the mileage benefits.http://img633.imageshack.us/img633/811/douMvs.jpg
