Side stand rubber resting on exhaust pipe?

Not long now before I get the 1000S running for the first time since last year. The bike was bought fitted with a 4 into 1 exhaust, which as been replaced with a new hybrid 4 into 2 system. The sidestand rubber (09320-07001) rests on the new left hand collector pipe when the sidestand is in the raised position. Am I right in assuming that the rubber is there just to stop metal-to-metal contact between the sidestand and the exhaust?

I'm not familiar with the OEM exhaust arrangement, nor do I have ready access to view one.

Will the heat from the exhaust pipe be a problem for the rubber?

I would rather trust my bike to a "QUACK" that KNOWS how to fix it rather than a book worm that THINKS HE KNOWS how to fix it.
