    gs650 carb jets

newbie just got my gs650g running complete restoration does anyone know the correct main jet size for a stock engine with pods and a mac 4 into 1 thanks in advance,or who is the carb Guru on this site

During your complete restoration, did you note main jet size, or are you relying on previous owner's efforts? Stock bike with stock airbox and stock exhaust has mikuni 110 mains- pods will require a significant increase. Does this thing run ,and if so, how well?
Welcome, new to you bike, go here and read what needs to be likely done by you! Don't put too much faith in PO's claims.

the carbs are stock with 110 jets runs and start real good up to about 4500 them it bogs i put on a mac header with baffle in .the air box is off I assume that's why it bogging carbs have been cleaned per tech article on this sight new rubber plugs and floats set at 22mm i don't want to put the air box back on looking for a little more performance pulling the carbs again to rejet no big deal just figured some one has already figured out the jetting needle setting and mixture turns saving me a lot of trial & error any input greatly appreciated

A good rule of thumb would be one full size up for the pipe (to 115) and one full size up for the pods so up to 120. That'll put you close. Plug chops are going to be necessary after that to look at performance across the throttle range

I've got a similar setup to what you have... You'll need to get a Dynojet kit for your setup with pods. I have straight pipes running through each side and 4 pods. I put these jets in there and now it runs like a dream.

thanks for your input. I decided to keep the original air box as the bike is totally stock, and is 3 or 4 hp really going to make a difference? I have a Bad!! Ass 1250 Bandit if I want to scare my self , I installed the air box today and it ran like a new bike, except the choke stopped working didn't work that well to start with. When I rebuild the carbs I did every thing except choke plunger seals any thoughts on that regards

i knew that I was avoiding pods for a reason! As to "choke" stuff, when you rebuilt/cleaned carbs, did you pay attention to how fuel gets from fuel bowl up to carb throat in choke circuit?
