85 GS1150 carb question
Are the 2 nipples on the airbox side of the GS1150 carbs, 1 on #1 & 1 on #3, just float bowl vents ? If not what are they ? In the manual it just shows the hose running over the top of the air filter box and ending as best I can tell. Sorry for all the questions, this bike was kind of a put it together kitTags: None

Yes, vents.sigpic

Are the 1150 carbs different or are you not numbering them correctly?
Carbs are numbered from left to right, as if you were sitting on the bike.
#1 is under your clutch hand, #4 is under your throttle hand.
Yes, the nipples (and the hoses that attach to them) on carbs 2 and 4 are, indeed, vents.

I was always told they numbered from left to right sitting on the bike. If youre right then its #2 & #4. Anyway thanks for verifying what I thought. Did you know that if you leave the float limiter off the needle & seat gas will flow out of one of them, I do. That's something you don't want to learn after the carbs are back on the bike. That's what old age back pain will do for you.

Yes, those are indeed carbs 1 and 3, yes, they are still vent hoses, yes, they still do the same function.
