    VM34s on GS450?

Is anyone running mikuni VM34s on their GS450s? I've just put a set on mine, they've come with the following as standard and I'd just like to get an idea where I should be aiming!

    260 main, 35 pilot, 159 Q-2 needle jet, 6DH4 jet needle, 2.5 slide, and 2.0 air jet.

    Thanks.

Aren't 260 mains very very big?

Yep, much too big I suspect. Hoping to find out what people are running in theirs, if anyone's using them, so I can get a rough idea where I should start!

VM34's are too big for a GS450. VM30's would probably be a better fit.

But if you want to give them a shot, Google around for "XS650 VM34 jetting" since there are plenty of folks that put them on an XS650. Than you can try to jet down from what you find there.

Thanks for the advice Big Rich. As I've already got the carbs, I think I'll give 'em a go! I managed to find a small amount of info on a set of VM34s fitted on a gs450, and a couple of home made graphs a guy made detailing a few combinations of jets and needles, all of which don't seem to be hugely far off what people seem to jet them for XS650s, but its certainly a long way off how they're jetted in their brand new 'standard' state! Hopefully I can get it running nicely enough to ride for the remainder of this years good weather, then I'll probably get it Dyno jetted properly for next summer.
