    Broken Post

I am about to install my rebuilt carbs into my GS550T restoration project. One of the float bowl posts is snapped off. I have installed the float/pin and from what I can tel it seems to function the same as the other three carbs. Does any one have any experience in successfully running their bike with a missing post in one of their carbs?

I have done it that way, have also repaired the post with a variety of methods. As long as you check the fluid level to make sure it's even with the other carburetors it will work fine.
Once it's in there and running the floats can't really move around even with only one post.

That said, used carburetor bodies are easy to find.

Once I drilled a hole in the broken post and in the carb base and tapped it back on with a roll pin.
Can't believe that one came out straight. Lol
