Someone mention 29 smoothies, stock air box with a K&N filter attached? Only hassle is the standard air box holds the battery in place. Have to weld hooks onto the battery box and use cut up tubes as rubber bands to hold down the battery. FYI, the carbs are a tight fit and i always undo the engine bolts and tilt the engine forward to slide carbs in and out. Little hassle but with practice isnt that bad.

Don't care for them or just going a different direction? Ive thought about getting a set for my GS1000.

Folks - the cams that are coming out are probably no good, they had significant pitting developing the last time I saw them, but will have a look when they come out.

RU-1390 $40.99 on the K&N site with current special pricing.
gsrick - any reason for the angled flange mount on this one?

Why aren't you just getting the type that fits in the actual airbox. And just for your info, I have one of the large K&N filters that bolts directly onto the first airbox but I'm using the one that goes into the actual airbox instead.

Just playing with ideas for the setup azr. I actually have the rear airbox section and a K&N filter that came with it. But I was thinking a filter bolted directly on the front airbox section would breathe better (looks like the stock airbox only has two rather small holes for air to come in), and also leave some space in that area around and above the battery.

Understand that, well I've got one that I think is the correct one, yours for shipping if you want it.

Yoshimura cams should have Yoshi cast into the cams just next to the sprocket if i remember correctly

Is the ID of the flange mount 62 mm? I think that's the right size.

I think you are right. But, it's been a long time since I had the valve cover off. I'll look for that.

Yes it is 62mm ID. I currently has a metal reduced modded to fit inside of it from the PO, that said he modded it to fit an 1100. I'll post a pic of it when I get a sec.

the metal sleeve has hockey tape wrapped around it and then wedged into the filter. Like I said the PO said he fitted it to an 1100 that's why I left the sleeve in there for now.
