Exhaust, does this fit or not?

    Hey family

I recently bought my first ever bike, a Suzuki GS750 -77. It was in OK condition, so i decided to get some new parts for it. I bought a used Micron exhaust, but it seems like it does not fit. The man i bought it from says that he used it on his GS750 78-79.

    My troubles:
    1) The mounting bracket (on top of the muffler) hits the frame, so that the exhaust wont align with the cylinders. Therefore, it will not seal properly.
    2) The diameter of the ends (exhaust -> cylinder, shown on picture), is somewhat smaller on the new exhaust.

So my question is: Is this a Suzuki GS750 -77 exhaust? Will it fit if i cut it and install another muffler?

    Thank you for your time

Looks like it will fit just fine, right after you butcher your frame. How badly do you desire installing this exhaust?

Can't tell much from your photo of the header pipe diameter. From casual look it seems that the pipes will fit into the head so that's half the battle right there.

Your pipes have shifted, are you sure everything else is lined up properly? It's not unusual that the mounting tab does not always align properly, you might have enough room to slide the muffler back a bit ( just because he had it clamped differently doesn't mean it will be like that on your bike). I would remove all the parts and start from scratch. Mark the pipes and collector so you get it back together properly, cylinder numbers are from left to right as you sit on the bike. I have used two gaskets on 4-1 exhausts before to compensate for sealing problems, and make sure the old gaskets are not still hiding in the head, they seem to disappear when they get covered with carbon and mashed after being tightened.

The whole system is welded together.. My plans is to mount another muffler on it, as the existing one is pretty banged up. So my problem is really if i should go for it, and hope it fits, or deliver it back, with money loss and keep on looking.. Its quite expensive her in norway, and not an easy find, so if this worked out it would be great. It just seemed so odd that its THAT big differense in the header pipes. 4mm smaller than my other exhaust is a lot.

I don't think Micron ever made a system for the first generation GS750. The angle of the head pipes is off. I think if you were to seat the pipes into the ex port, the collector may be perilously close to the pavement if not dragging. Spend the money and get a system actually made for your bike.
