Yes...another carb help question please! :)

I picked up a 1979 GS1000 and I went online to Parts N More, ordered four carb kits and they arrived, wonderful but sadly they don't fit, see attached image.

All the kits I find on eBay have the same parts that do not seem to fit my carbs, any advice??

    Thanks!

Your kit is for the 34mm CV carb GS1000; 1980-81. You have VM carbs, most likely 26mm, used on 78-79 model years. Go to SUDCO and get your carb parts and jets.

1st, for VM carbs, the general consensus here is don't buy carb kits. Clean the carbs and new O rings per the tutorial.

You have read the carb cleaning tutorial???

Also, that fuel screw (not included) looks mighty short. Are all 4 of them short? Turn your carb bodies over and look down that hole. Can you see light at the bottom? If not, those broken off tips are clogging the idle circuit

      Z1 sells replacement fuel screws

Get your o-rings from here: http://www.cycleorings.com/
Also, get rid of the Sleeman Honey Lager and try the Cream Ale instead.

Thanks for the help! Sending the kits back now and ordering some o-rings!

Also, yeah sorry about the Honey Brown, I just picked up a bunch of Granville Island Winter Ale, if anybody of you are in the Pacific NW, I highly recommend you try it!

Don't forget the bowl gaskets too.

Samuel Adams Boston Ale for me. However, in the spirit of the seasons OctoberFest and Winter Lager are in my fridge now. I also enjoy some Guinness Stout or two here or there.

Any suggestions on where to get the float bowl gaskets?

I bought my VM bowl and top gaskets from jaquishmotorsports on ebay. The cut was not perfect, but after installing and having fuel overflow issues, the bowl gaskets haven't leaked.

Just an update, not really about the carbs...its a little out of season but nevertheless, this watermelon beer is fantastic!

                    SUDCO has them.
