If not - I was thinking about getting these DCC 'shorty' mufflers since they're cheap and simple. Is there any reason to get more expensive mufflers? I know that I'm in for a hassle with jetting, etc.IMG_5076.jpg

Can I pull a dent out of a muffler?
I just picked up a 'parts' GS450 for $250 that had been in a minor accident to supplement my existing GS. The right hand pipe on my existing bike is pretty rusted and theres a pretty large something shaking around in the muffler. Now the right pipe on the one I just picked up has this dent in it but it's pretty far forward in the cone so I was wandering what these look like on the inside and if I pulled the dent out if the pipe would still be useable. Since its toast anyway I'm going to give it a go and see what happens.

I don't think you are going to be able to "pull" that dent. If you want to remove it, you will have to cut the muffler and PUSH it out from the inside, might take some heat to do it.
That dent is well ahead of the baffles, so that should not be a problem.
