Those are Katana GSX1100SZ/SD pipes and they are hard to find. GS110X are for the 1100 they also made pipes for the 1000SZ that had a different number but there is no difference the pipe is the same, I read somewhere that the big centre hole is different some have a plate like these at the back and have and some are plain I believe that the 750SZ have a smaller diameter downpipe so will not fit though the rest of the dimensions are the same. I turned the internet upside down to find a set of these to go onto my 1000SZ and was fortunate to find some NOS 1100 ones to go on when I get round to doing the bike up.
    Those pipes look very nice.

This is the pipe on the bike....

    The pipe on the bike.....

    The new pipe....

Don't say can't, as anything is possible with time and effort, but, if you don't have time things get tougher and require more effort.

It's looking like you are correct, along with a few others. However, the ones on your Kat are flat, have they been recoated?

Ok, after going back and reading Ed's thread on the same topic, I am convinced these are in fact 1983 GSX1100SD Kat pipes.

Thanks to everyone who helped, including GS Scott who brought my mistake to light and provided me with some great info.

So, I will either sell them, trade them for a nice 1100ED set or start another bike search.

Yes, somebody squirted them over with HT paint which is what prompted finding the new replacements. I might look into getting them rechromed black or black zinc, they're in very good condition other than the paint.

The Kat's sold in France had only one outlet, maybe due to some noise regulation law?
Mine are also in flat black as I recovered them from a bike that was salvaged from a fire.
All aluminium parts were melted but the exhaust was fine except for the chrome.

Just a quick follow up.... I heard from the guy who sold me the exhaust. These came from his friend who owned a GS1100ES and they sold them to me as pipes for the 1100E/ES.

After my mistake came to light, I questioned the owner and found out that he also owned an '83 1100 Kat and now assumes that is the bike the pipes originated from.

So, to properly list these pipes would be 1983 Suzuki Katana GS1100S/SZ/SD......correct?

I believe that all the Kat pipes have only one centre outlet, some pipes have the plate on the back. It is cosmetic only
