What are my NEW Exhaust options? GS1000 Skunk

Man I've had a hell of a time finding an exhaust for this that is neither a MAC nor a 4-1. Luckily, this forum made it very easy to find the spokes hubs, though, and they're ready to lace up! So can you refer me to any chrome 4-2 or 4-2-4 or 4-4 options for the GS1000 1978? Basically anything OTHER than a 4-1!

    Thanks

Check out Delkevic. A new player. A few members have tried them and seem to be generally pleased if I recall.

That's true, they are 4-1, but they are stainless.

Shoot, I didn't realize you were looking for duals. Sorry.

Yeah, the hard part is finding anything that is OEM style or just isn't 4-1!

Personally, I'm addicted to the sound of a 4-into-1, but after that, I vote for a 4-into-4. (This is a democracy, right? )

Are you opposed to a nice original exhaust? Seems to me that would be your best solution for a 4 into 2 exhaust.

I like the 4-4 option, and it's cheap... just chop and wrap your old pipes! haha

If you really don't want a 4>1 the MAC is your only choice for a new set if pipes. My solution for a relatively stock looking pipes with new mufflers kinda fell into place for me.

Had gotten these long Dunstall reverse cones thrown in with a deal for 2 GS400's.

Got a set of header pipes with rusted out mufflers off Rob(azr).

Cut off the old rusty bits.

And had a friend weld on these stubs.

It would take a keen eye or parking beside a stock piped 1000 to tell the difference IMHO.

Not at all. I'd love to have original downpipes. It's just the mufflers I'm not a great fan of for this build. But having the OEM downpipes with CHROME still attached sounds unfeasible, considering Suzuki's reputation for tin-foil chrome plating.

                        SVsook's solution is superb.

Well I cracked and went for some MAC 4-2, since I had a deal from the supplier. Sure wish there were more non-4-1 options
