    1982 GS1100 G header choices

Unfortunately, it appears the 8 valve motor is now the red headed step child as far as header options go. Will the 16 valve header fit? I've seen both yea's and nay's on the internet. I've even seen that regarding the gaskets!

Back in the day, the Mac header wasn't the choice if you could afford a Kerker (or Yoshi), but that appears to be all that's out there for the 8 valve. A new Kerker back around 1980 was about $189. Now, it's up to almost $800. Not a week's salary (at least for me) like it used to be. I am on a budget, but willing to go as high as $400. Any suggestions?

Thanks for the link! That looks like it will do the trick. I just need to see if it will for sure fit the G model.

I'm assuming the veterans here are tired of answering questions like mine, since nobody did.

Well, maybe no answer because you answered it yourself.
Me, I've tweaked my 1100G a bit and decided it's design is way too far in the past to compete with bikes just 5 years newer.
Swingarm and rear wheel are real heavy, nothing easy you can do there, no bolt on update.
Cams would have to be custom grind, head mods on the order of Yoshi in his prime.
Headers, well I'd just mod the OEM duals or mod a Yoshi 4>1 for the oil cooled GSXR1100 to fit the G.

There the Delkevic and there's also Vance and Hines. I bought a V&H from BB for $359 shipped and no tax for my GS1000EN. 16V head pipes will fit but fitting the tail pipe is a crap shoot, although I tend to think it would fit with minimal coaxing.

"deuce there is no reason it wouldn't fit it's made for the 82 1100 G" I'm not familiar with Suzukis yet to know what will crossover. I've had issues when ordering other parts "maybe" not fitting my bike, but they will show they fit the other GS1100 8 valve models. Just being cautious...

              Thanks for y'alls help!

That's it! I really was surprised nobody bid on it. To my advantage, I guess. I bought it away from Ebay, so he got what he wanted and so did I.

I picked up the Delkevic header. Nice and light. There were no instructions, so I installed the head pipes first, then the collector, then the tail piece. In hindsight, I think I might install the collector to the head pipes beforehand. A lot of tightening, then loosening to get it right, then tightening again. Real nice sound as well, and that's with all the baffles in it. Now if I can get my charging system straight...
