    Sticky throttle.

I have a 1979 gs850. I have owned it for a year. The throttle has always been stiff to turn. I recently went through and checked the tube. Which moves fine in the housing. I checked the cables. Both of them disconnected from the carbs move freely. But the rocker on the carbs that the cables attach to doesn't move freely. Is this a dirty carb slide, a sticky rocker or I don't know what else?

Could be the shaft that runs through all of the throttles, could be a bent or sticky slide, could be a bent needle dragging in the needle jet. Take it apart and find out, it 's time to replace all the orings anyway, and it's probably in need of a proper cleaning too. Why I'd even bet new boots wouldn't hurt it any.

I vote for a sticky slide in at least one carb- as mentioned ,probably best to open them up.
