troubles starting the bike after it has sat for a few hours

I am fairly new to bike repair. I have a GS1100GK and it runs great once it gets started. I have to use starting fluid to get it to start after it has sat for a few hours if it is cold out side. i have rebuild the carbs and changed the fuel line.. any suggestions as to what could be wrong

Have you checked the valves? Choke working properly? It's easy to miss cleaning out the pilot passages if you're not looking for them, could cause your problem.

Probably clogged "choke" system feed lines- it's an enrichment system that feeds extra fuel up to carb throats. Head to Basscliff's site as mentioned.

Be sure to check the valves. The problem is most likely the carbs but if it's the valves the engine will be damaged if you don't address the issue right away.
