I am interested in this as well...I am having a lil stumble just off idle and need to clean it up. I have done very similar items as you have done!

I'm doing my carbs too. I recently bought a used '82 GS850L. Not sure when the last owner had the carbs off but 4 of my diaphragm cover screws are stuck bad. Impact screwdriver, Blaster, or vise grips trick will not get them loose. Going to get a EZ out kit tomorrow. The float bowl screws popped loose rather easy. I'm right behind you Mottacycle I have ordered the O ring kits from cycleorings. Got an email from Robert they are on their way. I also got the hex bolts for the intake boots. Now wished they had the hex bolts for the diaphragm covers as well.

Your local hardware parts store has them Bill. The impact driver will get them out but it takes some serious persuading; I recommend having someone else hold the carbs upright while you carefully work on the screws.Cowboy Up or Quit. - Run Free Lou and Rest in Peace

Yeah thanks Cowboyup I did go to Lowes today and they had some hex type screws, plus got the EZ out kit. Got them all out with the EZ out bit. Moving forward, now have the carbs apart and have removed all jets but one pilot jet. Got a stuck one of those too. Figures huh. Oh the challenges !
