    VM 28MM back to stock

Hello people, another quickie carb question, what's the stock jet size for 28mm VM s I have a four into one and a stock airbox ? Apologies if I am going over old ground here, I have read through a LOT of the carb/fuel forum and found a lot of info on jets with pods, jets with re-bores, and 26mm VM s.... I know stock jet for a "26" is 95. ...... the jets that came with the 28 s say "c a r" and then "740" (cant seem to find any info on what that means!) ...I have some 97.5 s.. would they do? what im looking for is factory set up, including needle clip position, and then I can smooth her up and tweak her happy....thank you and sorry again if, it is here somewhere in black and white, and I just didn't find it. S

Did you see this information on Basscliff's site yet?

Though I just looked at it again and didn't see 28s in the one section. Sorry

28's never came to the US. I believe agemax has some and might have the information.

Both my 1000s with VM28s running with the stock airbox and 4-1s have got 102.5 main jets. Everything else is as VM26s. I have a suspicion that the book of words is wrong and 95s aren't standard.

At the top of this section there's a Sticky for OEM carb specs and page 3 has some VM28 specs. It appears the internal parts are the same as the VM26 with possible exception being the needle jet depending on what VM26 specs you look at. Hampshirehog mentioned that the main jet specs might be in doubt so hopefully some more info will come in. I've got a set sitting on the shelf with non stock jetting that'll probably go on my 1000 one day so I'm interested in these specs also.

He never mentioned which size bike he's talking about, but the 1000s with VM26 carburetors did in fact come with 95 main jets, at least on the USA models.

The VM28 as far as I know only came on the euro 1000S and was wondering if the euro "S" had different cams as well.

Some of our ENs had VM28s as well as all (I think) the SNs - I'd be guessing if I tried to put a percentage on it though. The hotter cam thing on the S is a bit of a coin toss as well I think - some had them and some didn't.
