    Exhaust header question, GS300

Hey errbody, I've been hibernating too long!

Anyway, I'm getting ready to repack the Dime City mufflers on the bike, and while I was at it I pulled the headers off to swap the header bolts for studs. Looking inside the pipe, it gets REALLY small, like a pipe within a pipe small - where I cut the pipes to slip my part store special 1 3/8"-1 3/4" OD adapter pipes onto, I cut probably the last half inch of the other end of the inner pipe off.

Now I know this is a small engine, probably displaces less than the typical cup of coffee. So it isn't gonna exhale as much. But I can't stop wondering if a pipe without the inner pipe would increase power any since I've put on straight-thru mufflers, larger "intermediate" pipes(those adapter pipes between the mufflers and headers), pods, and dialed the jetting in accordingly?

I understand that might mean yet another rejet, which is fine since I need to raise the float level on the starboard carb anyway. Thanks for any input yall may have!

    Anyone?

I may have a look at the inboard header pipes on a 550 or 650. Crap, I might even see about borrowing a TIG welder and doing up some stainless ones, who knows?
