    GS450 1981 fuel leak

Hello all you GS lovers, i have a question for you.
My 450 just recently started to leak fuel from the left exhaustpipe.
What do you think, would it be the floatneedle?
I have disassembled the carbs and opend them up.
The floatneedle at the same side as the leak feels at little strange, not as smoth
    as the other side.

Or is there any chanse that the petcock could couse these symptoms?

    Thanks in advance!

Is it leaking while it's running or while it's parked? If it's while it's parked it couldn't leak no matter how bad the float needles are if the petcock was shutting off correctly.
If the needle has a groove in it then that should be replaced too, there are probably more like that.

Its only leaking while running, dripping perhaps once per second.

Then it's not the petcock, the fuel level must be way too high. Is it even running on both cylinders? Either way your carbs are all goofed up and need some work.

Yes its running on both but i have noticed exceded white smoke from the left muffler (where the leak is) which maybe is not so
strange if the carb is bad in any way.
That exceded smoke is worst while the bike is cold.

Would you think it would be enough to fit new float needle/valve and adjust floatlevel?
Also do you think i should suspect fuel in the engine oil?
