    Ceramic coated exhaust

Had these chromed stock pipes for a GS 850 redone in silver ceramic. Tolerates temps up to 1600 degrees, fraction of the cost of chroming and it looks fantastic. Very pleases with the results.

    These pipes were a mess.

      Very nice.
Is that from Jet-Hot or did you use someone local?
Did they do the inside as well?

What was the condition before coating? I was told no go if any rust is apparent even after sand blasting.

        TIA.

I had a set done local to me. They look great but are quite fragile. The coating tolerates heat nicely but not impacts.

I was thinking of having them ceramic coated but I don't like the final finish. Would prefer something smoother.

My understanding is that the finish can be color sanded and polished to a high sheen.

Mine were ceramic coated black by a local powder/ceramic coating company. I'll have to take a close up picture to see if it actually looks like that. Mine look pretty smooth to me with no sanding/polishing at all.

                    That silver ceramic looks nice.

Am about to get a new two stroke exhaust & was planning on nickel plating.
Anyone have a handle on durability of silver ceramic vs. nickel plating?
