Delkevik opinions
Anyone have first hand knowledge of the Delkevik 4 into 1? They seem to be priced reasonably for a stainless system. Probably a bit less than a MAC.Tags: None

yes I do. I bought a 4 into 1 stainless set. They said the pipes are tested on the kind of bike they are built for that is perfectly tuned. So most bikes need no jetting changes. Easy installation. I put them on and rode, with a little back firing when I backed off after hard exceleration. After the ride my bike would not idle, it would die. But I have found several issues I am fixing now. Air leaks and I am doing a cleaning and re-syinc. on the carbs. I had an intake leak too. Mine are already blue maybe got too hot with intake leak. My bike is a 1980 GS1000 CV BS34 carbs. I have been riding it and not doing much else but changing oil for 7 years. I think they will be fine when i'm tuned up[SIGPIC1980 GS1000E

i've had one on my 78 gs1000 for about a year now. it's great. comes with removable glass pack and baffle so you can set it up 3 ways. i took out the baffle and use the glass pack cuz i'm using pod air filters and have larger main jets installed. occasionally i take the glass pack out for fun.
i recommend the delkovic. it's cheap, sturdy, fits perfectly and sounds good.
and here's an awful little video where you can hear it.

1. Glass
2. Baffle
3. Glass & baffle (possible?)
4. Wide open

Which is louder - the glass or the baffle?Last edited by Rob S.; 05-19-2016, 11:00 PM.1982 GS1100E V&H "SS" exhaust, APE pods, 1150 oil cooler, 140 speedo, 99.3 rear wheel HP, black engine, '83 red

the baffle fits inside the glass pack so it can only be used with the glass pack. it's pretty quiet with both installed.2002 bmw r1150gs 1978 gs1000E skunk les pew 1979 gs1000L dragbike

I have pods and a stage three jet kit and run mine with all the baffles as it came from the factory. Sounds good and built noticeable power throughout the power band. When tuned correctly they don't pop much on deceleration even though there is a slip on collector. All discolorations will polish out with chrome polish but Stainless is a bit of an odd animal if you are used to chrome. It naturally turns gold with heat and that will polish out nicely but I would recommend studs because they are a lot easier to deal with off the bike. Regular removal is not good for aluminum threads so studs would eliminate that problem.http://www.thegsresources.com/_forum...ine=1440711157'78 GS1000E, Dyna-S ignition, Dyna Green Coils, K&N pods, Delkevic SS 4-1 exhaust, Dynojet Stage 3 jet kit, Russell SS Brake Lines, Progressive suspension, Compu-Fire series Regulator 55402 and Advmonster cree LED headlight conversion.

I have a stainless system on my 2013 CB1100 and it is a nice gold color around the headpipe area... know what you mean but gold looks better than rust. I don't understand the point about studs. Are you talking about the studs that the head pipe flanges mount onto?
