My 550t runs the carbs empty when i drive it above 70mph for any more than 2 miles. I have tried all the normal checks (cleaned the carbs / changed the fuel in line filter i fitted and removed / cleaned petcock filter /changed fuel lines / tested driveing it with petrol tank cap off and still no luck . If i keep the speed around 60 it runs but badly and above this for a length of 2 miles it cuts out dead ? park up for ten mins to let the carbs refill press the start button and on you go again . it is very annoying on a long spin so any help would be great . Oh ye im a lot better with a spanner than i am with computers thats why i prefer older bikes

As an experiment try without the fuel filter. It could be blocking flow. Also check the petcock to see if it's flowing well.Ed

Do you have the petcock in the on setting or is it in PR for prime? If you are running in PR then switch it to on and make sure the vacuum hose is fitted properly
It almost sounds like the petcock has failedCowboy Up or Quit. - Run Free Lou and Rest in Peace

tried petcock in all positions and tried running it down the road on a fuel bottle . Also if it was in the prime it would flood the carbs but this is emptying them dry as if their was no fuel getting in and its only when doing speed over 70mph ??? im truely lost
