    Weight of fuel additive?

Does anybody know if fuel additive, say Stabil, is heavier or lighter than gasoine? (I would think it would be the same weight.)

Pour a cup of each and weigh them.

MSDS for stabil ( 95% 2-Propanol) says density is 0.792. Gas/petrol varies quite a bit but I would expect it to be in the range 0.72 - 0.77.
On that basis stabil is heavier.

A quick Google search showed me that the specific gravity of Stabil is 0.9, the s.g. of gasoline is 0.72.

Would it sink to the bottom of a tank of gas then?

Isn't it formulated to deal with water in the fuel? Doesn't water sink to the bottom of the fuel tank?

I like learning too and enjoy the interconnectedness of everything this world has to offer......I personally just don't find the need to start half a dozen threads on fuel additives. I don't think I need to fully explain the pointlessess of some of the threads some people start.
