Taking RS36 off, going to stock CV carbs from 1100 on my 1000G

I bought a rack here, with Dynojet kit. in April. Still haven't opened the box.
Yes, life gets in the way. My knee surgery went well, so I can play in garage now.

So... any tips you guys can offer? Local bike repair guy just said "start from the middle of their recommendations"...

Bike has Webb cams, pods, and a stupid-loud Kerker that I hope to tame as soon as I can find a baffle smaller than the 2 1/4" one in it now. (Will changing to a smaller baffle really require a re-jet ???)

and .. how much is a set of RS36 selling for these days?

<-- it's a video. This was from many months ago, first firing since changing head. and painting. The aluminum covers are a lot shinier now

Cams+Pods+Pipes=Re-jet for sure. The Dyno-Jet kits are a known. Do you know if the carbs came from an 1100E or 1100G? There is a slight difference.

Darn, with so many daily riders it's hard to decide which one to jump on next.;)

Off topic but, how did you get your engine looking like that? It's gorgeous.

Not sure-- but I can ask, since I got them from a GSR member.

        How are they different ?

          Fresh paint on top.
Buffing wheel and metal polish in electric drill on aluminum side covers. ( on floor by bike in picture )
it's nice, nut not show quality. Never will be. I didn't even take the covers off to polish them! ( too lazy)

What metal polish? glad you asked! Simichrome is my standard. ( because it is VERY cheap for me ) I used at least 2 others, don't remember them working a lot better, or a lot worse.

I'd ask how much you'd want for them, but after spending the past few weekends getting the BST36SS carbs jetted correctly for my GS, I'm about done with messing with carbs for awhile. lol

The non-removable main air jet is a different size. 1.2mm for the 16V engine and 1.7mm for the 8V engine.

Also jet kits are different from shafties to chain drives. Not sure what carbs you have or jet kit. If the DJ needle is tapered to a point it is for a sixteen valve. If it is blunt like stock it is an eight valve.
1983 GS 1100E w/ 1230 kit, .340 lift Web Cams, Ape heavy duty valve springs, 83 1100 head with 1.5mm oversized SS intake valves, 1150 crank, Vance and Hines 1150 SuperHub, Star Racing high volume oil pump gears, 36mm carebs Dynojet stage 3 jet kit, Posplayr's SSPB, Progressive rear shocks and fork springs, Dyna 2000, Dynatek green coils and Vance & Hines 4-1 exhaust.
                1985 GS1150ES stock with 85 Red E bodywork.
