Cant tell from that picture. Just look at the brass flat hinge the pin goes thru and look for a little tab bent at a 90 degree angle and thats in line with the post. And seeing that those are composite floats in the picture you certainly do not have weighted down floats.MY BIKES..1977 GS 750 B, 1978 GS 1000 C (X2)

I would rather trust my bike to a "QUACK" that KNOWS how to fix it rather than a book worm that THINKS HE KNOWS how to fix it.

Heres the tab. If you dont see that they are most likely upside down. Set the tab so the needles move smoothly. The tab in the center is tweeked up or down to set the float hts.

You're measuring the float height at the wrong location. The 22.4mm height is measured at the base of the step. Not the top.http://img633.imageshack.us/img633/811/douMvs.jpg

Darn, with so many daily riders it's hard to decide which one to jump on next.;)

Is the center of the circle, where there is a step that goes down to the start of the round part, the place to measure?Attached Files

You got it. From the base of the float gasket (no gasket in place) to the flat area of the step.http://img633.imageshack.us/img633/811/douMvs.jpg

Post a pic of your setup. Also, if the needles are collapsed then they will touch the retainer first. Remove the retainers. They're not really needed.http://img633.imageshack.us/img633/811/douMvs.jpg
