    leaking carbs - can't source T - nipple

    Hi,

On my 1979 gs550e the carbs are leaking. I have taken them apart and the T nipple in the middle of the non cv carbs are worn. (the fuel inlet that goes to a t nipple)

I have phoned fawlers in the UK but they can't source them, however, they were very helpful.

I have seen these on ebay but they are in the states.

    Part Number - 13685-47040

I have also taken apart my spare carbs and the nipple is also worn ;-(

    any other ideas?

    Simon

Easy to make if you have a lathe. This one is a homemade jobby. Just add O-rings...

    To measure is to know.

I know I have spares, but I don't recall if they came from VM carbs or CVs. I'm presuming that, being a 79, you have VMs? Give me a couple of hours, I'll see what I have. If you get chance to measure yours, that would be great.

          Thank you very much.

I have just "cleaned them up" as hey had lots of old petrol / crystals on them. so far, they are not leaking.

          will keep you posted.

Oy, fellow '79 550 here, though my Tee's are holding at the moment

I have recently gained "access" to lathe, i.e. I want learn hobbyist-grade machining and found a retired machinist willing to show me the ropes/basics.

Steve, if you don't mind explaining/sharing, is that "tube" connecting the fuel tank line soldered into the other part? Do you have some measurements handy?

nice job ed. Mine seem to be holding but fear they need replacement. (I believe they swell slightly once in fuel)

                Did you make these yourself?
