I have a new to me 83 GS1100E with a leak between carbs 2 & 3. Looks like the fuel rail O-rings are leaking. I've got the bars off carbs and the choke rail, and now I'm staring at the "buttery fly" rail with all those springs and the caps on the ends. How is this removed? Do I just pry off the caps? And then, how is this rail reinstalled? Fun!

Follow the tutorial and you should be okay. Once the two gang bars are removed and the choke rod the carbs should just pull apart.Ed

Was able to separate the carbs and found the fuel rail O-rings hard and cracked. I'm sure they're original. The PO gave me a new set of O-rings and they were easily installed.
