    will a 850G 4:1 fit on my 1000G ?

    or....
    difference from V+H 12005 vs 12009 ???
    1980 GS1000G - The Beast - GOING... GOING... yup, it's gone. I'm bikeless !!! GAaaahh !!!
    1978 KZ1000C1 Police - GONE !
    1983 GPZ750, aka ZX750A1 - restored, fresh paint... Gave it back, it was a loaner !!!

    Not too sure about the aftermarket stuff, but the collars on the stock pipes are different sizes. If the holes are slotted enough, it might work, but the stock ones won't.

    A few years ago, I had gotten a set of 1000 pipes for my 850. At the same time, another member had gotten a set of 850 pipes for his 1000. We found out about the same time that there would be a fair amount of work involved in slotting all the holes in the collars, so we swapped exhaust systems.

      I called Vance and Hines... guy said "we don't have that much info"...
      I asked "Does the 12009 and 12005 use the same head/collector, just different muffler? I can work around different hanger location."

      answer... no. Different part numbers between the 850 and 1000 headers.

      Game over.
