    gs550e 1980 fuel petcock change ....

As the title suggests I want to change my working petcock.
The issue is that when left for a week or so
I have a hell of a job starting it.

On my gsx250 and kwak 750r1 it is or rather
Was the same until the prime option on the
Respective taps were used. They now start no problem.
There is no prime on the standard tap !!!!!

So is there another fuel tap with the
Pipes fuel pipes in the right direction
    I could use ? With a prime option ?
There is limited room thus the fuel pipes
Need to point the same way .
Has anyone with same bike pit on a tap with prime ???
    If so where ???

Just thinking with a prime option I would have no issues !
This would help when in my travels with the bike
And it was stood for a bit and I would not start.

Anyone got a fuel tap with ports pointing forward ?
My last Europe tour made it known I need one of these.

Has anyone else with a 550e 1980 . Got one to fit ?

My understanding is that the 1980 petcock had a prime option, sorta. Turning that screw head vertical (or is horizontal?) and hitting the starter button causes a vacuum pulse that initiates fuel flow. Or course, you have to remember to turn screwhead back to run spot .

Been trying to delete this message or delete the picture i posted for another.
cant be done so i give up !

On the gsx 250 it had that. a on and res option with a screw.
So yes that can be primed and one has to do that to get it started after a week left.

My GS550e has no screw ! just on and res.

cant post pic as cant deleet.

What is the mounting bolt centerline spacing of this 550e petcock?

Do you mean ... Where the petcock attaches to the tank and the
Distance between two mounting bolts ?

I have one that saved me in Europe so I'll take measurements in a sec
              and report.

This one had a prime but the nozzles pointed backwards so I had
To route the petrol line outside the bike. Not ideal.

              Outside to outside - 50mm
inside to inside - 38mm approx
