Nipple on left side of fuel tank?
Hey guys, just removed my fuel tank to replace fuel line and clean up under tank. Next to the sending unit there is a Nipple for a vacuum hose or fuel line that has nothing on it. Any idea what goes on it?Tags: None

That is for an overflow tube in case gas leaks out the sender. Just route the tube down to the bottom of the frame.

Just for clarification, depending on what bike you have (hint, hint), there could be a total of THREE niipples or hose fittings.
1. A larger one on the petcock for the fuel
2. If you have a stock petcock, there is a smaller one on the petcock for the vacuum to turn the petcock ON.
3. If your bike has a fuel gauge, there is a third fitting in the tunnel area that is connected to a crescent-shaped funnel. As mnferwerda mentioned, it is to catch any possible leaks from the sending unit and will route any leakage away from the top of the hot engine.
