Convert quad 750 carbs to twin 45 carbs?

Hi all,

I am in South Africa and it is super tough to find parts for my 1981 GS450 here. I found a guy trying to sell his Quad Mikuni BS34ss carbs off a 750 and I need some carbs for my GS450. Since the individual carbs are the exact same, I would, in theory, be able to convert these quad carbs into twins, right? See the picture of the quad set below.

I know that the jetting and what not may be different, but it is a lot easier to buy those bits and bobs that go in the carb here than the actual bodies themselves.

Any info would be helpful!

You can use the #1 and #4 carbs. The others would need the fuel supply port plugged on one side

But, why do you need new carbs? Are the bodies damaged?

Yup, they are damaged. One has the air/fuel screw jammed in it and the other has a stripped casing for the pilot jet

I am correct in saying these are the correct carbs though? I mean, the 750 and the 450 carbs are the same? They look exactly the same and the owner sent me pics where he held a ruler to the intake manifold side and it measured 34mm
