What is the diameter of the exhaust pipes on the GS450?

Hi there,

I'm getting my 1981 GS450 S next week

Could anyone tell me the diameter of the exhaust pipes? I can't wait to order pipes to make a 2-1

Now I know. The upper part of the headers is 38 mm outside diameter. But after the pipe that connects the two under the engine, the pipes are reduced to 36 mm until the mufflers.

I was going to say 1 1/2", but your measurement is more accurate.
